Job Summary
The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients at their homes, offices, and partner locations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and specimen handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection (venipuncture and capillary collection) safely and accurately.
- Verify patient identity and test requisitions before specimen collection.
- Label, document, and handle specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain specimen integrity during transportation to partner laboratories.
- Follow infection control, safety, and biohazard disposal procedures.
- Maintain collection supplies and inventory.
- Provide a professional and compassionate experience for patients.
- Report collection issues, patient concerns, or specimen problems promptly.
- Use the GIRAH Care mobile application for appointment management and status updates.
- Travel to patient locations within assigned service areas.
QualificationsRequired
- DMLT, MLT, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology, or equivalent qualification.
- Certified Phlebotomy training preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of blood collection experience preferred.
- Strong venipuncture skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Tamil and basic English.
- Smartphone proficiency and willingness to use mobile applications.
Preferred
- Experience in home sample collection.
- Two-wheeler and valid driving license.
- Familiarity with laboratory quality standards.
