Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment associated with Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems. The role ensures uninterrupted plant operation by maintaining all electrical and control systems in safe and efficient working condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment in STP, ETP, WTP, RO, and ZLD plants.
- Install, inspect, and maintain motors, pumps, blowers, compressors, MCC panels, control panels, and electrical wiring systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot electrical faults in LT panels, starters, VFDs, PLC panels, and instrumentation systems.
- Carry out cable laying, termination, and panel wiring as per standard practices.
- Ensure proper functioning of level switches, flow meters, pressure transmitters, and other field instruments.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain records of electrical maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure uninterrupted plant performance.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and rectify faults within the minimum possible downtime.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure all electrical tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Assist in commissioning and installation of new equipment and plant upgrades.
Qualification
- ITI (Electrician) / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE).
- Wireman License or Supervisor License will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with technical certification in industrial electrical maintenance are preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in operation and maintenance of STP, ETP, WTP, RO, or ZLD plants.
- ITI/Diploma qualification and a willingness to work in field operations may also apply.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and control panels.
- Basic understanding of PLC, VFD, and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Experience in motor control circuits and panel troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and documentation.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to work at multiple project sites and travel as required.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintenance reporting and documentation.
