OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
As a Senior Platform Support Engineer specializing in TIBCO Data Virtualization (TDV), you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of enterprise data virtualization solutions within the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector. Your expertise will enable HCLTech’s clients to harness the power of unified data access, enhancing insights, accelerating innovation, and supporting transformative healthcare outcomes. This role is pivotal to maintaining mission-critical data infrastructure, leading complex issue resolution, and driving continuous improvement.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the TIBCO Data Virtualization (TDV) platform, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting complex incidents, and resolving platform-related issues for enterprise clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including data architects, solution engineers, and business stakeholders—to deliver seamless integration and data connectivity.
- Manage platform upgrades, patching, and configuration changes following ITIL best practices and compliance standards.
- Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, proactively identifying potential bottlenecks or risks, and implementing preventative measures.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including operational procedures, knowledge base articles, and best practice guides.
- Participate in capacity planning, scalability assessments, and disaster recovery planning for the TDV environment.
- Support onboarding and training of junior platform engineers and client users, fostering knowledge transfer and skill development.
- Engage with vendor support for escalated issues or product enhancements, ensuring timely resolution and feedback integration.
- Lead or contribute to platform improvement initiatives, automation projects, and adoption of emerging technologies.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in enterprise platform support, with at least 3 years focused on TIBCO Data Virtualization (TDV) administration and operations.
- In-depth understanding of data virtualization concepts, enterprise data integration, and virtual data layer design.
- Strong expertise in TDV platform deployment, configuration, security management, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in SQL, database management (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.), and connectivity protocols (JDBC/ODBC).
- Experience with monitoring tools, incident management, and ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and data security best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical problem resolution in a high-pressure environment.
- TIBCO Data Virtualization or equivalent platform certifications will added advantage.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid data architectures.
- Experience with automation (scripting in Python, PowerShell) or DevOps practices.
- Background in healthcare or life sciences data management, compliance (HIPAA, GxP), and industry standards.
- ITIL Foundation or advanced certification.
Key Responsibilities
1. To monitor and track tickets/change requests and manage SLAs.
2. To work towards continuous improvement , perform root cause analysis and act as a point of escalation for complex and high-priority customer issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
3. To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations
4. To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity
