Key Responsibilities
1. Safety Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable provisions of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, Factory Rules, and other statutory safety requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across the factory.
- Ensure all safety permits and licenses are maintained and renewed as required.
- Monitor contractor safety compliance and work permit systems.
2. Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
- Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all operations.
- Identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain risk registers and track closure of identified hazards.
- Participate in Process Safety and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) activities.
3. Accident Prevention & Investigation
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
- Prepare investigation reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor implementation of preventive measures.
- Maintain accident and incident records as per legal requirements.
4. Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction programs for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Conduct mock drills for fire, emergency evacuation, chemical spills, and other emergencies.
- Promote safety culture and employee participation in safety initiatives.
5. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Coordinate emergency response teams and fire-fighting arrangements.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of emergency equipment.
- Conduct periodic emergency evacuation drills.
6. PPE Management
- Identify appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Ensure availability, issuance, and proper usage of PPE.
- Monitor compliance with PPE requirements across departments.
7. Fire & Electrical Safety
- Ensure inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Conduct fire safety audits and emergency preparedness checks.
- Monitor safe electrical practices and compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate statutory inspections of safety equipment.
8. Health & Environmental Management
- Monitor occupational health and industrial hygiene practices.
- Coordinate employee health check-ups as per statutory requirements.
- Ensure proper waste management and environmental compliance.
- Assist in implementing sustainability and environmental initiatives.
9. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain statutory registers, records, and safety documentation.
- Prepare monthly safety reports, KPI dashboards, and management presentations.
- Maintain records of training, inspections, incidents, audits, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with government authorities during inspections and audits.
10. Safety Committee Coordination
- Act as secretary/coordinator for Safety Committee meetings.
- Follow up on action items and recommendations.
- Promote employee participation in safety improvement programs.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Science or equivalent.
- Diploma or Degree in Industrial Safety recognized by competent authority.
- Additional certifications in Fire & Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 will be preferred and added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years as Safety Officer in any Manufacturing Plant Enviornment.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
