Job Description
Kriya Industrial Automation is looking for a Senior Design Engineer with practical experience in mechanical design, machine design and industrial automation equipment design.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in 3D modelling, 2D drafting, machine design, mechanical assemblies, fabrication drawings and design development.
The role will involve designing customized machines and automation systems based on customer requirements. The candidate may also be required to visit customer sites for measurements, machine study, technical discussions, installation support and project-related activities.
Therefore, candidates must be willing and comfortable to travel as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design and machine design for industrial automation equipment
- Developing 3D models and mechanical assemblies
- Preparing accurate 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings
- Designing machine structures, mechanisms, fixtures and components
- Developing designs based on customer requirements and applications
- Understanding existing machines and developing suitable design solutions
- Reverse engineering of machine components and assemblies
- Selection and integration of mechanical components
- Preparing BOMs and engineering documentation
- Coordinating with fabrication, manufacturing, electrical and automation teams
- Supporting machine assembly and commissioning activities
- Making design modifications based on testing and commissioning requirements
- Conducting site visits for measurement, machine study and technical discussions
- Ensuring designs are practical, manufacturable and cost-effective
Required Skills
- 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical/machine design
- Strong knowledge of 3D CAD modelling
- Experience in 2D drafting and manufacturing drawings
- Knowledge of machine design and mechanical assemblies
- Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, couplings, linear guides, pneumatic components and fasteners
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience in reverse engineering will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of design calculations and component selection
- Good technical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate with multiple engineering teams
- Willingness to travel to customer locations
