1. POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a technically sound and client-oriented Sales Engineer – Projects to join our project sales team. The incumbent will act as the primary interface between prospective clients and the internal technical-estimation team, responsible for end-to-end project inquiry management — from initial site assessment and solution recommendation through to quotation submission, follow-up, and final order closure.

Damodar Process Plant Pvt. Ltd. is a Kolkata-based manufacturer of industrial conveyor systems and agro-processing equipment, with manufacturing facilities near Dhulagarh, Howrah, West Bengal. Our product portfolio includes Belt Conveyors, Screw Conveyors, Continuous Weighers, Bagging Systems, Grain & Tea Destoners, and PLC Automation Systems, catering to industries such as rice milling, agro-processing, food processing, and bulk material handling.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Pre-Sales & Site Assessment
- Conduct site visits to client facilities to understand project requirements in detail.
- Analyse the client's operational needs, layout constraints, and technical parameters.
- Recommend the most practical and cost-effective solution from the company's product range.
- Develop a basic feasibility concept or layout idea on-site wherever required.
B. Internal Coordination
- Prepare and transmit a clear technical brief / requirement note to the Project Estimation Engineer.
- Coordinate for preparation of the technical quotation and basic drawings (if applicable).
- Review the quotation received from the estimation team for accuracy and completeness before dispatch.
C. Commercial Follow-Up & Order Closure
- Submit and present the quotation to the client professionally and in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular and systematic follow-up with clients for order finalisation.
- Negotiate final commercial terms within the approved pricing framework to achieve order closure.
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, and order status.
4. CANDIDATE PROFILE
Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 1 – 5 years of experience in technical / project sales, application engineering, or site-based technical roles
- Experience in material handling, conveyor systems, agro-processing, or allied mechanical equipment industry preferred
- Fresher with strong technical aptitude and excellent communication skills may also be considered
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems — conveyors, material handling, or process equipment
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and layouts
- Familiarity with AutoCAD-2D
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong communication and client-handling skills in Bengali and Hindi; proficiency in English for written correspondence
- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a field-intensive role
- Willingness to travel for client site visits and project inquiries across Eastern India
- Professional and presentable demeanour with strong follow-up discipline
5. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Fixed CTC: Negotiable and commensurate with qualification and experience
- Travel and field expense reimbursement as per company policy
- Statutory benefits: ESI/Medical Insurance as applicable
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,500.00 per month
