A senior mechanical fitter in a foundry maintains, repairs, and installs heavy industrial machinery. Key duties include equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and leading junior technicians .
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Fix and service heavy foundry machinery including induction furnaces, molding machines, sand mixers, shot blast units, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems .
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical faults rapidly during breakdowns to reduce production down time .
- Installation & Alignment: Align shafts, assemble gearboxes, and install replacement parts using precise measuring tools and blueprints.
- Leadership: Guide, mentor, and oversee junior fitters and apprentices in safe workshop practices .
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict factory safety rules, use proper personal protective equipment, and follow hazard protocols in a high-heat environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5 or more years of hands-on mechanical fitting experience, ideally inside a heavy manufacturing or foundry setting
- Education: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering .
- Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, cutting tools, and reading technical schematics.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy weights, work in hot conditions, and stand for long periods
Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
