Job Description:
The Technical proposal preparation role is responsible for creating comprehensive and competitive technical machine tool solutions, catering to the specific needs and requirements of clients. This position plays a crucial role in the sales process, contributing to the development of customized solutions and ensuring that clients receive accurate and compelling technical information to make informed purchasing decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Client Needs Assessment: Conduct in-depth study of customer requirements / specifications to understand their machine tool requirements, production processes, etc.
Ø Machine Tool Selection: Collaborate with the engineering team to select the most suitable machine tools from the product portfolio that align with the client's needs.
Ø Technical Solution Design: Develop detailed technical solutions and configurations, including machine tool specifications, features, capabilities, and optional accessories.
Ø Cost Estimation: Collaborate with costing team to prepare accurate cost estimates for the proposed machine tool solutions, including the machine itself, installation, training, and any additional services or products.
Ø Proposal Development: Create professional and persuasive technical proposals that clearly articulate the benefits and advantages of the proposed machine tool solution, addressing client needs and concerns.
Ø Technical Documentation: Compile all necessary technical documentation, schematics, and drawings to support the proposal, ensuring that it aligns with industry standards and regulations.
Ø Bid Response: Respond to client inquiries, requests for clarification, or modifications to the initial proposal in a timely and professional manner.
Ø Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest advancements and features of machine tools and other relevant products, ensuring a strong understanding of the product portfolio.
Ø Competitive Analysis: Keep abreast of competitors' offerings and pricing, contributing insights to the pricing strategy and ensuring the competitiveness of proposals.
Ø Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, costing and project management, to ensure a seamless transition from proposal to project execution.
Ø Customer Support: Provide technical support to clients during the proposal evaluation process, addressing their queries and concerns.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ø Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Ø Strong technical knowledge of machine tools / industrial equipments and related technologies.
Ø Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ø Preferable knowledge of using CAD software for creating technical drawings and schematics.
Ø Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ø Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple proposals simultaneously.
Ø Sales acumen and the ability to understand client requirements.
Ø Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
