We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Data Manager to lead the design, development, and scaling of enterprise-grade data pipelines and analytics platforms in the cloud. This role is pivotal in driving our data strategy, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable solutions that power critical business decisions.
Job Description AND Principal Responsibilities
This role covers below responsibilities within Northern Trust :

Strategize, Lead design, implementation, and operational management of secure, scalable cloud data products solutions on snowflake & Azure.

Architect and optimize data pipelines using Snowflake Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.

Develop and manage enterprise data platforms leveraging Snowflake for cloud data warehousing.
-
Ensure best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps for data engineering solutions.

Drive ARB discussions end to end and responsible for the e2e life cycle of data products
-
Implement advanced data engineering pipelines and machine learning workflows using Azure Databricks (including Delta Lake and medallion architecture).

Drive integration of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for business intelligence and self-service analytics.

Mentor and Lead team members on Azure data engineering, Snowflake optimization, and Databricks performance tuning.

Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to business and technology stakeholders.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and deliverables.

Establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards using Azure Purview and related tools.
Experience/ Skills
Minimum qualification:
-
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or related field.
-
18+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
-
Hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Azure cloud services, including Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks.
-
Proven experience with Snowflake for data warehousing and performance optimization.
-
Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and Spark/PySpark.
-
Experience integrating Power BI and Microsoft Fabric for enterprise analytics.

Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
Required Skills

Expertise in Snowflake, Data architecture, Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestrating complex data workflows.

Proficiency in Snowflake architecture, query optimization, and cost management.

Advanced knowledge of Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and Spark performance tuning.

Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code for data solutions.

Strong understanding of Power BI dashboards, DAX, and integration with Microsoft Fabric.

Ability to manage data security, compliance, and governance using Azure Purview.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have Skills

Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g. Certified Azure Data Engineer).
