Job Summary
The PPC Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and controlling production activities to ensure timely delivery of customer requirements while optimizing resources, inventory, and manufacturing capacity. The role requires close coordination with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics to achieve delivery commitments, improve productivity, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning
· Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer schedules and sales forecasts.
· Prepare production schedules considering machine capacity, manpower, tooling, and material availability.
· Balance production loads to maximize resource utilization and achieve production targets.
· Monitor adherence to production plans and revise schedules based on changing customer priorities.
Production Control
· Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and ensure smooth production flow.
· Track production performance against planned schedules.
· Identify production bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions with concerned departments.
· Ensure timely completion of production orders.
Material Planning & Inventory Management
· Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and bought-out components.
· Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
· Monitor material shortages and expedite procurement to prevent production interruptions.
Customer Delivery Management
· Ensure on-time delivery of customer orders as per agreed schedules.
· Coordinate dispatch planning with Logistics and Stores.
· Respond effectively to schedule changes and urgent customer requirements.
· Monitor delivery performance and customer service levels.
Cross-Functional Coordination
· Work closely with Production, Purchase, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Sales teams.
· Coordinate engineering changes and new product introduction schedules.
· Support capacity planning and production optimization initiatives.
Reporting & MIS
· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production planning reports.
· Analyze production efficiency, capacity utilization, and delivery performance.
· Present production status and action plans during management review meetings.
Continuous Improvement
· Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives.
· Improve planning accuracy and reduce production lead time.
· Support implementation of ERP and digital planning systems.
· Participate in cost reduction and operational excellence projects.

Required Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control systems.
· Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, and Capacity Planning.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production planning tools.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet customer delivery commitments.
Qualification & Experience
· B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
· MBA (Operations/Supply Chain) will be an added advantage.
· Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Production Planning & Control within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial role.
Authorities
· Approve production schedules and planning priorities.
· Coordinate production rescheduling based on business requirements.
· Recommend inventory optimization and production improvement initiatives.
· Escalate production constraints affecting customer deliveries.
· Coordinate interdepartmental actions to ensure uninterrupted production.
