About the Organisation
Enrich Lives Foundation is a Mumbai-based NGO registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Reg. No. E-35937(M)). The Foundation is dedicated to educating, nourishing, upskilling, and empowering underprivileged communities. Donations to the Foundation are eligible for income tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Role Summary
The Teacher will be responsible for delivering quality education to students enrolled at the BMC Parmanandwadi School under the Enrich Lives Foundation school project. The role demands a passionate educator committed to holistic child development through innovative, inclusive, and experiential teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
◦ Design and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
◦ Utilise experiential learning methods including hands-on activities, real-world problem-solving, and field trips.
◦ Implement active learning strategies such as group discussions, storytelling, role-playing, and interactive games.
◦ Integrate arts, music, movement, and play-based learning for effective and enjoyable lessons.
◦ Foster critical thinking and creativity through inquiry-based and project-based learning.
◦ Apply multisensory teaching techniques to cater to diverse learning needs.
2. Classroom Management
◦ Create and maintain a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
◦ Employ proactive behaviour management strategies, including positive reinforcement and peer mentoring.
◦ Develop and uphold clear classroom rules with a nurturing and empathetic approach.
3. Student Support & Holistic Development
◦ Identify and support students facing academic or social-emotional challenges.
◦ Provide individualised attention and foster values such as empathy, respect, and responsibility.
◦ Collaborate with school counsellors, social workers, and parents for a comprehensive student support system.
4. Community & Parental Engagement
◦ Build strong relationships with parents and guardians to enhance student involvement.
◦ Organise parent meetings, workshops, and community outreach visits.
◦ Engage with local stakeholders for mobilising and enrolling out-of-school children.
5. Assessment & Reporting
◦ Conduct ongoing assessments through observation, quizzes, and student portfolios.
◦ Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain detailed records of progress, attendance, and behaviour.
◦ Develop individualised learning plans for students requiring additional academic support.
6. Other Responsibilities
◦ Any additional responsibilities assigned by the organisation or project head from time to time.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Educational Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent; D.Ed. holders may apply.
- Training in child psychology, special education, or social work is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong command of the local language (Marathi/Hindi) and basic English literacy.
- Proficiency in child-centred and activity-based teaching methodologies.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children from underserved communities.
- Basic computer literacy is desirable.
Terms & Conditions
- This appointment is subject to project needs and funding availability.
- The candidate is expected to adhere to the organisation's policies, ethical standards, and code of conduct at all times.
- Performance will be reviewed periodically and may impact future terms of engagement.
- A Police Clearance Certificate (NOC) is mandatory as per BMC protocols for individuals working in municipal schools.
- Background verification is required to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹38,886.58 per month
