Vera is seeking a curious and analytical Intern to join our Data team. The intern will work on real-world data projects involving data preparation, analysis, visualization, and statistical modelling, while gaining exposure to data science and data engineering practices.
- Assist with data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, and preparation for analysis
- Perform exploratory data analysis and identify trends, patterns, and insights from datasets
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Super Set
- Support the development and evaluation of statistical and machine learning models
- Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from different sources
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and analytical solutions
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders
- Work with internal teams and clients across different data and business use cases
- Complete assigned tasks and provide regular updates on progress
Essential
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent field (no experience required)
- Strong fundamentals in Python and SQL
- Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Able to commit to a 1 year internship
Desirable
- Hands-on experience with BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Superset)
- Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn
- Understanding of machine learning and statistical modelling
- Exposure to data engineering, ETL/ELT, APIs, or cloud platforms
- Experience working on academic, personal, or internship projects involving real-world datasets
