Digital Marketing Manager - SEO
INTRODUCTION
We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled SEO Manager to join our team at Sovos. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive search engine optimisation strategies — spanning traditional SEO, Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), and AI-driven search to drive organic traffic and strengthen our online presence.
You will oversee on-page and off-page SEO, keyword strategy, link building, technical performance, and web analytics. As search engines increasingly integrate AI-powered results, generative answers, and voice-driven responses, your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring Sovos remains discoverable and authoritative across all modern search surfaces. OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
- Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies including traditional search, AEO, and AI-native search optimisation aligned with business objectives.
- Monitor and analyse website performance using SEO tools and analytics platforms, delivering regular reports with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with content creators and digital marketing teams to produce high-quality, keyword-rich content optimised for both traditional SERPs and AI-generated answer surfaces.
- Optimise content to appear in featured snippets, People Also Ask (PAA) boxes, AI Overviews (SGE), and voice search results.
- Execute link-building activities to secure quality backlinks from reputable, authoritative sources.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams — content, design, and product — to ensure optimal content performance across all channels.
- Integrate SEO with broader digital marketing initiatives to deliver cohesive, measurable campaigns.
YOUR TASKS
- Conduct thorough keyword research and SEO analysis, including question-based and conversational query mapping for AEO and voice search.
- Develop and implement on-page and off-page SEO strategies to improve website visibility, SERP rankings, and AI-answer inclusion.
- Optimise website content, meta tags, headers, structured data (Schema.org), and URLs to enhance search engine crawlability and increase eligibility for rich results.
- Structure content to directly answer user queries leveraging FAQ schema, how-to schema, and clear, concise answer blocks to maximise presence in AI Overviews and featured snippets.
- Implement and maintain structured data markup to ensure Sovos content is machine-readable and eligible for knowledge panels, entity recognition, and LLM training signals.
- Monitor Sovos brand and content visibility across AI-powered search tools such as Google SGE, Bing Copilot, Perplexity, and ChatGPT search, identifying gaps and opportunities.
- Identify and resolve technical SEO issues; collaborate with web development on performance, crawlability, and Core Web Vitals.
- Conduct SEO audits, competitive analysis, and benchmarking, including AEO gap analysis against competitors.
- Track and analyse website traffic, user behaviour, and conversion rates to assess strategy effectiveness and drive data-informed decisions.
- Stay current with emerging SEO, AEO, and AI search trends including developments in LLMs, generative AI search, and conversational interfaces and apply learnings proactively.
Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Relevant SEO certifications (e.g., Google, HubSpot, Semrush).
- 6+ years of experience in an SEO Manager or equivalent SEO-focused role.
- Deep knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and digital marketing trends, with a strong understanding of the Indian search landscape.
- Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools: Google Search Console, SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner, Google Analytics, and Screaming Frog.
- Hands-on experience with structured data (Schema.org markup) and rich results optimisation.
- Working knowledge of how AI-powered search engines (Google SGE, Bing Copilot, Perplexity) surface answers, and strategies to optimise content for these environments.
- Familiarity with AEO techniques: question-intent targeting, answer-box optimisation, entity-based SEO, and knowledge graph visibility.
- Experience with A/B testing, local SEO, and Google My Business optimisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable SEO strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders Globally.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with AI content workflows understanding how LLMs consume, rank, and cite web content, and how to optimise for citation in generative AI responses.
- Experience monitoring brand and content mentions across AI-driven platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) and building strategies to improve AI-surface visibility.
- Knowledge of technical SEO, including Core Web Vitals, page speed optimisation, and mobile-first indexing.
- Familiarity with social media marketing and its influence on SEO signals and content amplification.
- Experience with conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and its interplay with organic traffic strategy.
- Strong project management skills to manage multiple SEO initiatives simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
