Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Project Manager – Tekla Steel Detailing (AISC Standards) to lead structural steel detailing projects from project kickoff through final delivery. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Tekla Structures, AISC standards, steel fabrication workflows, BIM coordination, project execution, and client management.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage complete project lifecycle for structural steel detailing projects.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, manpower allocation, and delivery management.
- Coordinate with clients, fabricators, architects, structural engineers, and connection designers.
- Ensure detailing compliance with AISC, AWS, ASTM, OSHA, and project-specific standards.
- Review and approve:
- 3D Tekla Models
- Shop Drawings
- GA Drawings
- Erection Drawings
- BOM and CNC outputs
- Monitor RFIs, change orders, revisions, and document control.
- Conduct model reviews and quality audits before issue for fabrication.
- Manage multiple projects and ensure on-time delivery within budget.
- Drive constructability reviews and fabrication optimization.
- Lead project meetings and provide technical direction to detailing teams.
- Track productivity, project KPIs, and resource utilization.
- Mentor detailers, checkers, and BIM teams to improve performance.
- Support proposal preparation, estimation, and project planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Structural Engineering.
- 8–15+ years of steel detailing experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years in Project Management or Team Lead role.
- Expert proficiency in:
- Tekla Structures
- AutoCAD
- Bluebeam
- BIM Coordination
- MS Office
- Strong knowledge of:
- AISC Codes
- Fabrication & erection practices
- Structural steel connections
- QA/QC processes
- Multi-discipline coordination.
Preferred Experience
- US structural steel detailing projects.
- Experience working directly with fabricators and EPC clients.
- Commercial, industrial, data center, stadium, oil & gas, and infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing offshore detailing teams.
