About the Role
PROTEC is looking for enthusiastic Diploma holders in Metallurgy to join our manufacturing team as Junior Engineer Trainees. The selected candidates will receive structured on-the-job training in heat treatment, metallurgical testing, quality control, process monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Diploma in Metallurgy / Metallurgical Engineering
- Freshers are preferred (0–1 year experience)
- Candidates with internship or industrial training in the automotive or engineering industry will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring heat treatment processes and furnace operations.
- Conduct hardness testing and maintain test records.
- Prepare and examine metallographic samples.
- Support failure analysis and defect investigations.
- Assist in raw material and finished product inspection.
- Monitor process parameters and ensure compliance with control plans.
- Maintain metallurgical laboratory equipment.
- Prepare daily production and quality reports.
- Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Participate in 5S, Kaizen, TPM, CLIT, and continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of ferrous metallurgy and heat treatment.
- Understanding of metallurgical testing methods.
- Knowledge of hardness testing (Rockwell, Vickers, etc.).
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and measuring instruments.
- Basic MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
