Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead API Automation Tester to design, architect, and lead the automation strategy for our enterprise API and microservices ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for creating robust API automation frameworks, driving test planning, building Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM), executing automated suites, and delivering rich execution analytics to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Parasoft SOA / SOAtest, Python with Robot Framework, and PyRequest / Requests libraries, alongside modern AI assisted engineering practices using GitHub Copilot to accelerate test creation and service virtualization.

Key Responsibilities
1. Framework Architecture & Technical Leadership
. Architect API Automation Frameworks: Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable API test automation frameworks using Python, Robot Framework, and PyRequest / Requests libraries.
. Enterprise API Testing: Drive enterprise level API testing solutions using Parasoft SOA / SOAtest for end to end component testing, contract testing, and regression suites.
. AI Accelerated Engineering: Leverage GitHub Copilot to auto generate test scripts, craft payload templates, construct assertions, and generate mock data based on API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger, WSDL).
. CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated API test execution pipelines into DevOps toolchains for continuous testing during build and deployment phases.
2. Test Planning, Strategy & Requirement Traceability
. Comprehensive Test Planning: Formulate end to end API Test Strategies and detailed Test Plans covering functional, integration, regression, schema validation, and security/boundary testing.
. Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM): Establish and maintain an explicit Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) mapping API endpoints, payload contracts, and business requirements directly to automated test suites.
. Service Virtualization & Data Management: Configure stubbing, mocking, and service virtualization using Parasoft SOA to isolate downstream dependencies during testing cycles.
3. Execution, Reporting & Defect Lifecycle Management
. Automated Execution & Validation: Orchestrate scheduled and event driven API test executions, validating response codes, payload structure, JSON/XML schemas, and performance benchmarks.
. Reporting & Metrics: Develop and maintain automated execution dashboards and executive summary reports highlighting API test coverage, pass/fail trends, and defect metrics.
. Cross Functional Leadership: Mentor junior/mid level QA engineers, conduct code reviews for test scripts, and collaborate closely with developers and product teams to resolve API defects efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Competencies
. API Testing Tools: Deep hands on experience with Parasoft SOA / SOAtest for API test design, parameterization, and service virtualization.
. Programming & Automation Frameworks: High proficiency in Python, Robot Framework, and PyRequest / Requests libraries (or REST Assured integrations).
. AI Tooling: Demonstrated experience leveraging GitHub Copilot (or similar AI coding assistants) to accelerate API test automation script writing and scenario coverage.
. API Architecture & Protocols: Expertise in RESTful services, SOAP web services, JSON, XML, HTTP status codes, headers, and authentication standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, Mutual TLS).
. CI/CD & Source Control: Proficient with Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms for pipeline integration.
Professional Experience & Soft Skills
. Experience: 7+ years in Quality Assurance / Software Testing, with at least 2–3 years in a technical lead role dedicated to API and backend service automation.
. QA Methodology: Complete mastery of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Test Plan formulation, RTM creation, execution tracking, and bug lifecycle management.
. Problem Solving & Communication: Exceptional diagnostic skills for troubleshooting complex API response discrepancies and strong verbal/written communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
. Experience with API performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, K6).
. Familiarity with microservices architectures, Docker containers, and Kubernetes environments.
. Knowledge of web application security principles (OWASP API Security Top 10).
