Dyna Group is a Mumbai-based business group operating across three verticals: Dyna Energy Solutions LLP (Industrial battery import), Enertron (EV Battery import), and Maxtron EV (electric scooter brand).
Role Overview
We are looking for a sharp, proactive Import Coordinator who will own the end-to-end import process for our EV batteries and electric scooters. This is a critical operational role that will directly impact our cost structure, delivery timelines, and supplier relationships. The right candidate will be someone who knows the import ecosystem inside out — from freight negotiation to customs clearance — and can drive value at every step.
Key Responsibilities
Freight & Cost Optimization
- Negotiate the best ocean / air freight rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and NVOCCs on an ongoing basis
- Evaluate and utilize Duty Paid Delivery (DPD) and other beneficial import schemes to minimize landed cost
- Compare carrier and routing options to optimize transit time vs. cost trade-offs
- Track free time, detention, and demurrage windows and act proactively to avoid penalties
Documentation & Customs Compliance
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers for timely dispatch of shipping documents (BL, Invoice, Packing List, CoO, test certificates, etc.)
- Liaise with CHA (Customs House Agent) to ensure smooth and on-time customs clearance
- Ensure all import documents comply with DGFT, Customs, and BIS regulations relevant to EV batteries and scooters
- Maintain accurate records of all Bills of Entry, duties paid, and clearance timelines
- Stay updated on relevant HS codes, duty structures, import notifications, and regulatory changes
Supplier & Agent Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact with overseas shippers (China / Vietnam) for shipment coordination
- Follow up rigorously with shippers on cargo readiness, booking confirmations, and document submissions
- Manage freight forwarders and local agents to ensure end-to-end accountability
- Resolve exceptions, delays, or discrepancies promptly and escalate when necessary
Shipment Tracking & Delivery
- Monitor all active shipments from origin to delivery and maintain a live shipment tracker
- Coordinate last-mile delivery from port / ICD to warehouse
- Communicate proactively with internal teams on expected arrival dates and any delays
- Maintain MIS reports on shipment status, cost per container, and monthly import summaries
Vendor & Rate Management
- Maintain and periodically review a panel of approved freight forwarders, CHAs, and transport vendors
- Benchmark rates regularly and renegotiate contracts to ensure competitive pricing
- Evaluate new vendors and onboard where there is a clear cost or service advantage
Who We're Looking For
Experience & Knowledge
- 4–6 years of experience in import operations, preferably in electronics, auto components, or industrial goods
- Strong working knowledge of DPD (Duty Paid Delivery), DFIA, Advance Authorization, and other import facilitation schemes
- Hands-on experience with customs clearance processes, HS classification, and BIS/import compliance
- Familiarity with sea freight (FCL/LCL), freight rate benchmarking, and carrier negotiations
- Prior experience handling China / Vietnam origin shipments is a strong advantage
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English — confident and articulate with overseas suppliers and agents
- Highly organized with strong follow-up skills and the ability to manage multiple active shipments simultaneously
- Detail-oriented — zero tolerance for documentation errors
- Commercially sharp — always thinking about cost savings and efficiency
- Proficient in MS Excel, email, and shipment tracking portals
- Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced team
Location Preference
- Candidates residing in or around Andheri East are strongly preferred for ease of commute
What We Offer
- Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹45,000 per month, commensurate with experience
