Automation Engineer - Digital Process Automation (DPA)
The Workflow Automation team focuses on eliminating manual friction and accelerating business outcomes through intelligent process orchestration. We operate in a fast-paced Agile environment, utilizing cutting-edge Low-Code and DPA platforms to build the "digital glue" that connects Roche’s enterprise systems.
As aWorkflow Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design, development, and maintenance of high-scale automation solutions at Roche. You will work closely with the Product Owner and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical implementations. Ensuring that our digital workflows are performant, scalable, and integrated seamlessly with our global IT ecosystem, you will serve as a hands-on expert in driving our digital transformation forward.
The Opportunity
- Engineer End-to-End Workflows: Design and develop complex automation workflows using the Pega platform or similar technologies to eliminate manual friction.
- Solve Technical Challenges: Take ownership of tasks within the "grey zone," troubleshooting complex integration issues and optimizing system performance for high reliability.
- Bridge Systems via Integration: Design and maintain secure REST/SOAP API integrations between the DPA platform and diverse internal or external data sources.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvements and performance tuning.
- Collaborate in Agile Squads: Actively participate in Scrum/Kanban ceremonies, refining technical stories and providing accurate estimates to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure Security Compliance: Build solutions that strictly adhere to Roche’s global security and data privacy standards through clean and maintainable configurations.
- Mentor and Share Knowledge: Act as a technical bridge within your squad by participating in peer code reviews and sharing expertise during "Tech Talks."
- Document Technical Architecture: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including low-level designs and deployment guides for long-term scalability.
Who you are
- Experienced Software Engineer: You bring approximately 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years specifically focused on DPA or BPM platforms.
- Certified Pega Expert: You hold a mandatory Pega Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification or possess equivalent expertise in platforms like Appian or Camunda.
- Integration Specialist: You have a solid understanding of web services, microservices architecture, and JSON/XML data structures to connect enterprise ecosystems.
- Educated Professional: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field that provides a strong technical foundation.
- Agile Contributor: You have a proven track record of delivering medium-to-large scale technical initiatives within Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Standards-Driven Developer: You are experienced with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing frameworks relevant to DPA platforms.
- Strategic Communicator: You possess the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively in global, distributed teams.
