About the Role
The Purchase Engineer will be responsible for supporting the procurement function by sourcing materials, preparing Purchase Orders (POs), coordinating with vendors, and ensuring the timely availability of materials required for smooth business operations. The role requires excellent coordination skills, technical understanding, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and on time.
- Source and procure engineering materials, electrical components, and other required items.
- Coordinate with suppliers for quotations, pricing, delivery schedules, and order confirmations.
- Compare quotations and assist in vendor selection.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and identify new suppliers.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with stores, production, accounts, and other departments regarding procurement requirements.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and update stakeholders on delivery status.
- Assist in inventory planning and procurement scheduling.
- Support cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional coordination and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Desired Candidate ProfileQualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in Purchase, Procurement, Vendor Development, Supply Chain, or Materials Management.
- Candidates with relevant internship or industrial training experience are also encouraged to apply.
