Position Summary
Mind & Brain Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Pharmacist to manage pharmacy operations, ensure safe dispensing of medications, maintain regulatory compliance, and support quality patient care. The pharmacist will play a key role in medication management, inventory control, and patient counseling while adhering to all applicable pharmacy regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Operations
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently as per physician prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions for completeness, dosage accuracy, drug interactions, and contraindications.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of medications.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and consumables.
Medication Management
- Monitor medication inventory and expiry dates.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for all medications, including controlled drugs.
- Maintain records of narcotic and psychotropic medications as per statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement of medicines.
Patient Care & Counseling
- Counsel patients and caregivers regarding medication usage, dosage, precautions, and possible side effects.
- Address patient queries related to prescribed medications.
- Promote medication adherence and patient safety.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and registers as required by law.
- Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and other applicable regulations.
- Assist during internal and external audits and inspections.
- Prepare and maintain reports related to pharmacy operations.
Collaboration
- Work closely with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, or discrepancies promptly.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings when required.
Quality & Safety
- Follow hospital infection control and safety protocols.
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of expired or damaged medications.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Valid Registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
- Registered Pharmacist license is mandatory.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
- Experience in psychiatric or multi-specialty hospitals will be an added advantage.
- Freshers with valid registration may also apply.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, especially psychiatric medications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and patient counseling skills.
- Inventory and stock management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and pharmacy software knowledge.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
