Key Skill
Responsibility for cost estimation and tender-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Study customer requirements and understand project specifications.
- Understand the company process for submission of tenders and private inquiries and follow the same.
- Thoroughly study specifications provided in each enquiry.
- Prepare Bill of Material (BOM) for E&I items and Metering Skid Packages, including PG, PT, TG, RTD, Thermowell, Flow Computer, Flow Meter, PLC, Manual Valve, On-Off Valve, Control Valve, Cable, etc., as per client requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and the Purchase Department for cost estimation.
- Float enquiries for various products as per BOM, including bought-out items, by referring to the approved vendor list as specified by the client.
- Evaluate quotations and prepare comparative statements.
- Prepare realistic cost estimates considering specifications, risk, availability of items, delivery timelines, and other project requirements.
- Coordinate with various functions within the organization to obtain inputs required for cost estimation.
- Seek approval for the overall project cost estimation.
- Submit tenders after obtaining the required approvals.
- Follow up with the respective functions regarding the outcome of submitted bids.
- Maintain records of each tender along with supporting documents.
- Upon receiving an order, share relevant project details with the concerned team for further execution.
- Analyze lost orders and identify the reasons for unsuccessful bids.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an E&I Estimation Engineer at Cryogenic OGS Limited, Vadodara. The role involves estimation of E&I projects, analyzing technical specifications and project documents, preparing cost estimates and Bills of Material, coordinating with vendors and internal departments, evaluating quotations, and supporting tender submission activities while ensuring project requirements, timelines, and budgets are met.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, E&I, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Instrumentation and Process Control.
- Knowledge of project estimation and cost analysis methods.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, and project documents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, clients, Purchase, Engineering, and other internal departments.
- Experience in the cryogenic or oil & gas industry will be an advantage.
