Job Title: Sales & Estimation Engineer – Heavy Fabrication & Process EquipmentJob OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and technically sound Sales & Estimation Engineer. You will drive business growth and prepare accurate cost estimations for heavy fabrication products. These include pressure vessels, boilers, dish ends, tube sheets, and industrial sheet metal components. You will bridge the gap between clients, engineering, and procurement teams to deliver winning, profitable proposals. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with the GeM portal and end-to-end government tendering systems.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & GeM Portal ManagementGeM Operations: Manage the complete GeM (Government e-Marketplace) portal lifecycle, including product/service uploading, direct purchases, L1 bidding, and reverse auctions.Tender Identification: Monitor government and PSU tender portals (CPPP, ISRO, BHEL, NTPC, IOCL, etc.) for relevant heavy fabrication projects.Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial bid documents, ensuring strict compliance with eligibility criteria.Documentation: Compile required certificates, financial documents, EMD (Earnest Money Deposit), and bank guarantees for tender submission.Clarifications: Attend pre-bid meetings to resolve technical queries and submit post-bid clarifications to procurement committees.Estimation & CostingTechnical Review: Analyze client RFQs (Request for Quotes), engineering drawings, data sheets, and specifications.Material Take-Off (MTO): Prepare accurate MTOs for plates, tubes, forgings, welding consumables, and machining allowances.Cost Calculation: Estimate raw material, fabrication labor, welding (ASME/non-ASME), NDT (X-ray, UT, MPI), PWHT, and surface treatment costs.Vendor Sourcing: Obtain competitive quotes from third-party vendors for specialized processes like dish-end forming, tube-sheet drilling, and logistics.Sales & Business DevelopmentLead Generation: Identify and target new clients in oil & gas, power, chemical, and heavy manufacturing sectors.Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement managers and technical consultants.Negotiation & Closure: Follow up on submitted offers, attend technical/commercial clarification meetings, and close orders

Required Skills & CompetenciesPortal Expertise: Proficient in navigating GeM 4.0, e-tendering portals, and digital signature certificates (DSC).Drawing Interpretation: Expert level in reading fabrication drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with global manufacturing codes like ASME Section VIII (Div 1 & 2), ASME Section I, and TEMA (for tube sheets).Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of heavy rolling, CNC multi-spindle drilling (for tube sheets), press shop operations (for dish ends), and welding processes (SMAW, SAW, TIG).Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel (Advanced), and estimation software or ERP systems.
Education & Experience RequirementsEducation: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.Experience: 3 to 6 years of core experience in sales, costing, and estimation within a heavy fabrication workshop, pressure vessel manufacturing, or boiler industry.Mandatory Requirement: Minimum 1–2 years of proven track record handling Government Tenders and GeM Portal operations for engineering or manufacturing products.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
