Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled MIG Welding Production Engineer to supervise and manage MIG welding operations in the fabrication shop. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets, maintaining welding quality, improving productivity, and ensuring safety compliance. Experience in PEB, structural steel, or heavy fabrication will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily MIG welding production activities.
- Allocate manpower and monitor shop floor productivity.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and welding symbols.
- Ensure welding is carried out as per approved WPS and quality standards.
- Monitor weld quality and reduce defects, rework, and material wastage.
- Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments.
- Maintain daily production reports and welding records.
- Ensure timely completion of production targets.
- Monitor welding consumables, gas, and raw material usage.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper maintenance of MIG welding machines and equipment.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and PPE requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Welding certification (preferred).
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in MIG welding production.
- Experience in PEB, steel structures, heavy fabrication, or manufacturing industry preferred.
