We’re looking for a database replication expert to design and implement real-time data replication for a PostgreSQL database between DigitalOcean and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).The ideal candidate has deep hands-on Oracle GoldenGate experience and is equally comfortable evaluating and implementing open-source replication tools when GoldenGate isn’t the right fit for the source/target combination.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time replication of a PostgreSQL database between DigitalOcean and OCI
- Set up and configure Oracle GoldenGate for data replication where applicable
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement open-source replication alternatives (e.g., logical replication, pglogical, Debezium, or similar) where GoldenGate is not suitable for PostgreSQL-to-PostgreSQL replication
- Ensure replicated data stays consistent, low-latency, and reliable in productionMonitor, troubleshoot, and tune replication performance
- Handle schema changes, conflict resolution, and failover/recovery scenarios for replication pipelines
- Collaborate with the infrastructure/networking team (responsible for the underlying IPSec connectivity between DigitalOcean and OCI) to ensure replication runs smoothly over the network'
Required Experience
- Strong, hands-on production experience with Oracle GoldenGate
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL replication, including familiarity with open-source replication tools/approaches
- Proven track record supporting real-time, production-grade data replication (not just POC/lab setups) Experience with cross-cloud or hybrid-cloud replication scenarios is a strong plus
- Comfortable working independently to evaluate tooling and recommend the right replication approach for the use case
What This Role Is Not
This role is focused on database replication, not cloud networking or infrastructure administration. IPSec/VCN setup and OKE/compute management are covered by a separate infrastructure hire
Pay: ₹1,200,000.83 - ₹1,500,000.46 per year
