Job Description
We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented General Maintenance Technician to join our facilities management team at Grand Mercure Mysore, India. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our operations, ensuring that all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure function smoothly and efficiently. You'll work collaboratively with various departments while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Perform routine inspections of premises, building systems, and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential issues

Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems efficiently and implement effective solutions

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns, demonstrating resilience and decisiveness under pressure

Install, service, and repair equipment and fixtures, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance
-
Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, service logs, spare parts inventory, and equipment performance metrics

Monitor equipment performance and utility systems, making recommendations for improvements and cost optimization

Ensure proper cleaning, servicing, and maintenance of filters, coils, ducts, and ventilation systems

Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a secure work environment

Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and services when necessary

Work closely with other departments to minimize operational disruption and support organizational goals

Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry best practices

Suggest innovative improvements to maintenance processes and procedures for better efficiency and cost control
Qualifications
**Required Skills & Competencies:**

Strong knowledge of various building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general infrastructure

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with an analytical mindset

Proficient communication and customer service skills with a collaborative approach

Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management capabilities

Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently

Physical capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various positions and environments

Basic computer skills for using maintenance management systems and documentation software

Flexibility to work different shifts and respond to emergency maintenance calls

**Required Experience:**

Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in general maintenance or facilities management

Demonstrated experience with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures

Experience maintaining and repairing building systems and equipment
**Required Education & Certifications:**

High school diploma or equivalent

Trade certificate or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing (preferred)

Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA guidelines

Valid driver's license (may be required depending on role responsibilities)
