Job Description (JD) – Chemist (Laboratory)
Position: Chemist – Laboratory - Trainee
Department: Quality Control / Laboratory
Location: Plant Site, Banara , Cuttack - Odisha
Reporting To: Lab In-Charge / QC Manager
Educational Qualification
B.Sc. in Chemistry (Mandatory)
M.Sc. Chemistry candidates may also apply.
Experience
· 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing plant laboratory, preferably in the Ethanol, Distillery, Grain Processing, Chemical, Food Processing, or Related Process Industry.
· Freshers with strong academic knowledge and willingness to work in shifts may also apply.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct routine chemical analysis of raw materials, process samples, intermediates, finished products, water, and effluents as per standard procedures.
· Record and maintain laboratory test results accurately in registers, formats, and software systems.
· Ensure timely reporting of analysis results to production and concerned departments for process control.
· Prepare standard solutions, reagents, and calibration standards as per laboratory requirements.
· Assist in calibration, validation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
· Follow laboratory safety practices, housekeeping standards, and quality management procedures.
· Maintain proper inventory of chemicals, glassware, consumables, and laboratory reagents.
· Support internal audits, external audits, and statutory compliance requirements related to laboratory operations.
· Coordinate with Production, Utility, and Othe departments for sample collection and analysis.
· Work in rotational shifts as per plant requirements.
Desired Skills
· Sound knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory testing procedures.
· Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
· Knowledge of basic quality control systems and documentation.
· Proficiency in MS Excel and report preparation.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work under shift operations in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation
· Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and industry standards.
· Freshers with a strong academic background and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Candidates having experience in Ethanol, Distillery, Grain-Based Processing, or Chemical Manufacturing Industries will be preferred.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
