Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Academic Counsellor role based in Bengaluru. The Academic Counsellor will guide learners and families in understanding BrightCHAMPS programs, helping them choose suitable courses aligned with their interests, strengths, and future goals. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, providing academic advising, and supporting learners with study plans and progression pathways. The role involves regular communication with parents and guardians, tracking student performance, and coordinating with teaching and operations teams to address learner needs. The Academic Counsellor will also participate in information sessions, workshops, and outreach activities to promote BrightCHAMPS offerings.
Qualifications
- Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners in course selection and academic planning.
- Career Counseling and Education-related skills to help learners connect current learning with future pathways.
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to students and families.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; advanced qualifications are a plus.
- Experience in academic or career counseling, preferably in edtech or K-12 education environments.
- Ability to build trust with learners and families, maintain confidentiality, and work in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with digital tools and CRM or student management systems, and comfort working with data and reports.
- Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered guidance and enthusiasm for helping children develop future-ready skills.
