ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description:

The Senior Associate Test Engineer – Automated Testing willbe responsible fordesigning, developing, andmaintainingrobust automated testing frameworks to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of Amgen’s software applications and platforms. This role involves collaborating with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to embed automated testing practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role requires deepexpertisein modern automation tools, frameworks, and practices to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen overall product reliability.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Design, implement, andmaintainautomated test frameworks for functional, regression, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing.

Collaborate with developers and DevOps engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous testing and quality gates.

Work closely with product owners and business analysts to understand functional and non-functionalrequirements andtranslate them into effective test automation strategies.

Develop reusable, modular, and scalable test scripts using industry-standard tools and programming languages.

Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects with detailed diagnostics.

Troubleshoot, debug, andmaintainexisting automated test scripts to ensure reliability and accuracy.

Partner with QA analysts to complement automation with exploratory/manual testing whereappropriate.

Stay current with emerging testing tools, frameworks, and best practices in test automation.

Participate in code reviews to ensure test coverage, maintainability, and adherence to testing standards.

Create andmaintaintest documentation, including plans, strategies, and reports.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree and 5 to 9 years of Computer Science,ITor related fieldexperience

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

3+ years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on test automation.

Hands-onexpertisewith automation tools such asCopado Robotic Testing,Selenium,Cucumber, TestNG, or equivalent, including the ability to design reusable and maintainable test scripts.

Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, processes, and tools, with practical experience across multiple testing levels (unit, regression, integration, UI automation, and defect tracking).

Proficiencyin at least one programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#) for building automation solutions.

Good-to-Have Skills:

Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Copado, GitLab, Azure DevOps) with hands-on experience embedding automated tests into pipelines.

Exposure tosecurity testing, code quality tools, and shift-left testing practices.

Familiarity withleveragingArtificial Intelligence in test automation, including the use of GenAI for efficiency and innovation.

Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Salesforce.

Professional Certifications(please mention if the certification is preferred or mandatory for the role):

Copado Robotic Testing

ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation/Advanced Level)

AWS/GCP/Azure testing-related certifications

Agile/Scrum certifications
