Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
The Business Development manager is responsible for identifying and developing strategic business relationships with shipping firms and other potential customers in India. We are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for sales, and initiatives to grow the Mackay footprint and generate revenue for the company. This position reports to the Director of Sales – Asia & Middle East.
Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
1. Serve as Mackay’s primary account manager for India which will include prospecting for new clients by networking, cold calling, and regularly visiting with shipping firms in or who regularly make calls to India.
2. Develop a pipeline of new business by researching, identifying, and meeting potential customers to grow, maintain, and leverage your network.
3. Possess thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and the company’s competitors.
4. Promote and sell Mackay’s key products and services. This includes ship-board service, equipment, parts, and satellite airtime.
5. Build and maintain relationships through attentive service, facilitating inquiries and ensuring client satisfaction with Mackay services and products.
6. Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales.
7. Plan sales approaches and use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate properly.
8. Generate and present proposals or quotations that speak to the client’s needs and objectives, conduct timely follow-ups.
9. Help organize and accompany sales visits to India by Mackay executives.
10. Responsible for roughly 75 accounts; submitting monthly sales report; and attending trade shows.
Business Development Manager Qualifications:
- 5+ years of marine electronics experience
- 2+ years in a Sales environment
- College degree.
- Technical expertise and experience. Good working knowledge of bridge electronics is preferred.
- Self-motivated, works well with minimum supervision
- Fluency in English required, other languages are beneficial.
- Effective communicator, will interact with many departments and individuals via telephone and e-mail.
