Job Description: Junior Civil Engineer
(Real Estate / Residential & Commercial Projects)
Position Overview
The Junior Civil Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day execution, supervision, and quality checks of construction activities for residential and commercial redevelopment projects. Working under the guidance of Senior Project Managers, this role focuses on supporting structural execution, basement construction, and façade installations, ensuring on-site activities align with project timelines and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Assistance & Supervision
Support day-to-day construction activities on-site as per approved drawings and timelines.
Assist in supervising contractors, vendors, and the site workforce to maintain daily productivity.
Monitor on-site work to ensure it aligns with standard quality benchmarks and safety norms.
2. Structural & Basement Work Support
Assist in monitoring the execution of multi-level basements (2–3 levels), including excavation, shoring, waterproofing, and RCC works.
Help conduct routine checks on critical activities like raft foundations, retaining walls, and dewatering systems under senior supervision.
Report any design deviations or technical anomalies to the structural consultants or senior engineers.
3. Commercial & High-Rise Execution
Participate in the day-to-day construction activities of high-rise commercial buildings.
Cross-check finishing standards and structural alignment against design specifications.
Coordinate with site MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of services.
4. Façade & Finishing Supervision
Assist in supervising the installation of glass façade systems (curtain wall / structural glazing).
Coordinate with façade vendors on-site to ensure materials are handled and installed per architectural intent.
5. Quality Control & Safety Compliance
Perform routine QA/QC checks on-site as directed by senior team members.
Assist in conducting material inspections, collecting samples, and coordinating laboratory testing.
Ensure workers and contractors strictly adhere to site safety regulations and protocols.
6. Planning & Coordination Support
Act as a bridge between site execution teams, architects, and project managers by delivering accurate ground-level updates.
Help track daily project progress against the master schedule.
Identify and report on-site technical challenges early for efficient resolution.
7. Documentation & Daily Reporting
Maintain precise daily progress reports (DPRs), site diaries, and material logs.
Assist seniors in preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQs), checking measurements, and verifying contractor bills.
Key Skills & Competencies
Foundational knowledge of RCC, structural execution, and residential/commercial construction methodologies.
Basic understanding of multi-level basement construction and glass façade systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings.
Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and handle high-pressure on-site environments.
Hands-on familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word); exposure to project planning tools is a plus.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in real estate or redevelopment projects.
Relevant Experience (Preferred)
Exposure to project sites across the prime Western suburbs (e.g., Andheri, Khar, Santacruz, Juhu, Versova).
Prior internship or junior-level experience with, or alongside, reputed developers
Basic site exposure to 2–3 level basement execution and commercial high-rise structures.
