Job Description – Electrician (Welding, Drilling & Grinding Machine Maintenance)
Position: Electrician – Machine Maintenance
Job Summary:
Responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of welding machines, drilling machines, grinding machines, and other electrical equipment to ensure smooth plant operations and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of welding, drilling, and grinding machines.
- Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs on motors, control panels, switches, cables, and electrical circuits.
- Install, test, and commission electrical equipment and machinery.
- Inspect machine wiring, earthing, and electrical safety systems regularly.
- Replace defective electrical components such as contactors, relays, MCBs, fuses, and switches.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts consumption.
- Ensure machines operate safely and efficiently with minimum downtime.
- Follow electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with supervisors and production teams for maintenance planning and shutdown activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues related to machine electrical systems.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, motor control circuits, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience in repairing welding machines, drilling machines, and grinding machines.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers.
- Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and electrical regulations.
Qualification:
- ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance (preferred).
Working Conditions:
- Factory, workshop, or project site environment.
- Ability to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdown maintenance when required.
Pay: ₹8,338.75 - ₹29,949.87 per month
