About the Role
Buff Institute of Design is looking for a creative and versatile Graphic Designer, Video Editor & Design Mentor who can handle professional design and video projects while also mentoring students in practical, industry-oriented design skills.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design
- Create social media creatives, advertisements, posters, banners, brochures and marketing materials.
- Develop visually engaging designs while maintaining Buff Institute of Design's brand identity.
- Work on typography, layout, colour theory, branding and visual communication.
- Create campaign creatives for digital marketing and promotional activities.
Video Editing
- Edit promotional videos, Instagram Reels, YouTube videos, educational content and advertisements.
- Create engaging short-form videos with transitions, motion graphics, captions, music and effects.
- Handle basic colour correction, audio enhancement and video optimisation for social media platforms.
- Convert concepts and raw footage into engaging visual stories.
Student Mentoring
- Conduct practical sessions and workshops in Graphic Design, Video Editing and related creative tools.
- Guide students through real-world projects, assignments and portfolio development.
- Provide feedback on students' designs and videos and help them improve their creative and technical skills.
- Support students in building industry-ready portfolios.
- Stay updated with current design trends, AI tools and industry practices.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
- Knowledge of After Effects is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Figma and other modern design tools.
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, composition and colour theory.
- Good video editing and storytelling skills.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and mentor students.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/diploma/certification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, Animation, Film Making or a related field.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in graphic design and/or video editing.
- Candidates with strong portfolios and relevant freelance experience are also encouraged to apply.
