Excel Innovators & Integrators (EI&I), established in September 2000 (formerly Excel Instruments), designs and manufactures advanced thin-film deposition equipment and high-vacuum research systems. We build custom PVD/CVD systems in-house -from client discussions and 3D design to fabrication, machining, electronics integration, assembly, testing, installation, and long-term service.
Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and technically curious Instrumentation Engineer to join our team and work on advanced instrumentation, automation, testing, measurement, and control systems.
This role is suitable for candidates who have a strong foundation in instrumentation, electronics, hardware systems, and control systems and are eager to develop their skills in software-based automation and hardware–software integration.
The selected candidate will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams and will receive practical exposure and guidance to learn and develop proficiency in LabVIEW for test, measurement, automation, and instrumentation applications. Prior experience in LabVIEW is not mandatory; a strong technical foundation and willingness to learn are valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on instrumentation, automation, testing, measurement, and control systems.
- Assist in the integration of sensors, instruments, electronic hardware, and control systems.
- Learn and develop LabVIEW-based applications for testing, measurement, automation, and hardware interfacing.
- Develop and support software–hardware communication and system integration.
- Work with PLC-based control systems and programmable logic circuits.
- Assist in programming and interfacing with microcontrollers and other electronic hardware.
- Collaborate with instrumentation engineers and cross-functional teams for system development, implementation, integration, and validation.
- Perform system testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues related to instrumentation, hardware, software, and system integration.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, user manuals, and other engineering documentation as required.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge in instrumentation, automation, LabVIEW, PLCs, embedded systems, and related technologies.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and engineering best practices.
Who We Are Looking For
- Strong interest in instrumentation, automation, control systems, testing, and hardware–software integration.
- Good understanding of hardware systems, sensors, instrumentation, and measurement principles.
- Basic understanding of PLCs and programmable logic circuits is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of programming and coding is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of microcontrollers and hardware interfacing will be an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to learn LabVIEW and other software tools required for the role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to understand technical systems and apply logical thinking to solve engineering problems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A proactive attitude and genuine willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical expertise.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics & Telecommunication / Computer Science or a related engineering discipline (B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc.).
- Higher qualifications such as M.E. / M.Tech / M.Sc. will be an advantage.
- Freshers and candidates with relevant experience in instrumentation, automation, electronics, control systems, or related engineering fields are encouraged to apply.
