Job Summary
Roots Country School is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dynamic History Teacher (TGT/PGT) to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should possess strong subject expertise, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to make history engaging, relevant, and thought-provoking for students.
The candidate should be capable of connecting historical events with contemporary issues, fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, research abilities, and a deeper understanding of world civilizations, cultures, and global developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach History and Social Science to students as per CBSE curriculum requirements.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote historical inquiry and critical thinking.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, assessments, projects, and study materials.
- Develop students' understanding of Indian History, World History, Political Systems, Geography, and Civics where applicable.
- Encourage research-based learning, debates, presentations, and project work.
- Integrate technology and modern teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
- Prepare students for board examinations and competitive examinations where relevant.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain academic records and assessment reports.
- Participate actively in school events, educational trips, exhibitions, assemblies, and co-curricular activities.
- Contribute positively to the boarding school environment through mentoring and student support.
Qualifications
For TGT History
- Bachelor's Degree in History or a related Social Science subject.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution.
- CTET/TET qualification preferred.
For PGT History
- Master's Degree (M.A. History) from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution.
- Additional qualifications in Education or related fields will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience for TGT.
- Minimum 3–7 years of teaching experience for PGT.
- Experience in CBSE-affiliated schools preferred.
- Experience in a residential/boarding school environment will be an added advantage.
- Proven track record of producing strong academic results.
