Job Summary:
An Airport X-Ray Technician is responsible for screening passengers' baggage, cargo, and other items using X-ray machines to detect prohibited, dangerous, or suspicious objects. The role helps ensure the safety and security of passengers, airport staff, and aircraft by following aviation security procedures and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray screening equipment to inspect cabin baggage, checked baggage, cargo, and parcels.
- Identify prohibited items, weapons, explosives, and other security threats through X-ray image analysis.
- Conduct secondary screening and physical inspection of baggage when required.
- Ensure compliance with airport security policies and aviation security regulations.
- Monitor X-ray equipment for proper functioning and report technical faults promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities and security incidents.
- Coordinate with security personnel, airline staff, and law enforcement agencies when suspicious items are detected.
- Provide clear instructions to passengers during the screening process.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling security-related information.
- Follow all safety, emergency response, and evacuation procedures.
- Participate in regular training, drills, and certification programs.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- Certification or training in X-ray baggage screening
- Knowledge of airport security procedures and X-ray image interpretation.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills in English and the local language.
