- 1 Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS): Develop accurate BBS from structural drawings (RCC, footing, slab, beam, column pile etc.) ensuring compliance with design and IS codes & general notes and get it approved from client/consultant/designer.
- 2 Quantity Take-off and Estimation:
- Calculate reinforcement quantities from GFC (Good for Construction) drawings for cost
- estimation, tendering, and procurement purposes.
- 3 Drawing Interpretation:
- Read and interpret structural and reinforcement drawings, cross-sections, and bar placement
- details to ensure accuracy in estimation and scheduling.
- 4 Optimization of Steel Usage:
- Analyze cutting lengths, bar shapes, and lap lengths to minimize wastage and improve steel
- utilization efficiency. And accordingly prepare BBS arrangement sheet to optimize the use of cutlengths.
- 5 Coordination with Design & Site Teams:
- Collaborate with structural engineers, site engineers, and contractors to resolve discrepancies and
- implement changes as per site conditions in BBS.
- 6 Preparation of BOQ (Bill of Quantities):
- Prepare and verify BOQs related to reinforcement works for tendering, subcontractor billing, and
- project budgeting.
- 7 Verification & Validation:
- Check subcontractor BBS submissions, compare with approved drawings, and ensure quantities
- match site execution.
- 8 Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, bar lists, and quantity summaries for audit and
- future reference.
- 9 Reconciliation of used steel as per IS.
- 10 Reporting & Progress Tracking:
- Generate daily/weekly reports on steel consumption, cutting lists, and deviations between
- estimated and actual quantities.
