Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Manager – Production & Factory Operations to independently oversee and manage end-to-end production and factory operations at our electric e-rickshaw manufacturing and assembly facility.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electric vehicle systems, vehicle components, production processes, assembly operations, quality control, manpower management, and process improvement. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient factory operations, achieving daily and monthly production targets, maintaining product quality, reducing rejection and downtime, and driving continuous improvement across production processes.
The role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, decision-making ability, problem-solving skills, and experience in managing production teams in the automobile, EV, e-rickshaw, e-three-wheeler, or related manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities1. Production & Factory Operations
Manage and supervise end-to-end production and assembly operations of electric e-rickshaws and related vehicles by developing and executing daily, weekly, and monthly production plans aligned with business requirements. Ensure the achievement of production targets while maintaining the highest quality standards, monitor production activities to ensure smooth assembly line operations, identify and resolve production bottlenecks through timely corrective actions, improve overall production efficiency and productivity, and optimize the utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other production resources.
2. EV Technical Knowledge & Troubleshooting
· Possess strong technical knowledge of electric vehicle (EV) systems and major vehicle components, including battery systems, battery packs, electric motors, motor controllers, chargers and charging systems, wiring harnesses, electrical and electronic systems, differentials, drive train systems, braking systems, suspension, steering systems, chassis, and other critical vehicle components.
· Support technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of production and assembly-related issues.
· Coordinate with relevant technical teams to resolve recurring vehicle and component-related problems.
3. Manpower & Team Management
Lead and manage Production Supervisors, Technicians, and Assembly-Line Workers by effectively allocating manpower, monitoring productivity, setting performance expectations, conducting regular performance reviews, implementing corrective actions where necessary, and fostering a culture of discipline, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
4. Quality Control & Process Improvement
Ensure adherence to quality standards and production processes by coordinating with the Quality team, monitoring rejection, rework, defects, and customer-related quality issues, identifying root causes, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), reducing production losses and wastage, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
5. Maintenance & Downtime Management
· Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure proper functioning of production machinery, tools, equipment, and facilities.
· Monitor machine and production-line downtime and take necessary corrective measures.
· Support preventive maintenance planning to minimise unexpected breakdowns and production interruptions.
· Ensure timely resolution of technical and operational issues affecting production.
6. Material & Inventory Coordination
· Coordinate with Procurement, Stores, Quality, Service, and Management teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
· Ensure timely availability of required raw materials, components, and vehicle parts.
· Monitor material consumption and ensure optimum utilisation of production materials.
· Highlight material shortages, quality issues, and supply-related concerns to the concerned departments.
· Support effective coordination between production and stores to minimise production delays.
7. Production Performance Monitoring & Reporting
· Monitor and analyse production performance against daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
· Prepare and submit regular production and operational reports to management.
· Monitor and analyze key production performance indicators, including production output, productivity, rejection and rework, downtime, material utilization, manpower efficiency, line efficiency, and production cost, and implement improvement initiatives to enhance overall operational performance.
· Provide management with regular updates on production status, operational challenges, and improvement initiatives.
8. Safety & Workplace Discipline
· Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and production-related safety standards.
· Promote safe working practices among all production and factory employees.
· Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to established SOPs and work instructions.
· Maintain discipline and professional conduct across the production floor.

Educational Qualification
· Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
· Approximately 8–12 years of relevant experience in:
o Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing
o E-Rickshaw / E-Three-Wheeler manufacturing
o Automobile manufacturing
o Vehicle assembly operations
o Production and factory operations
o Related engineering or manufacturing industries
· Prior experience in independently managing a production facility, manufacturing unit, or vehicle assembly line will be an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on and result-oriented production leader capable of independently managing factory operations and leading cross-functional teams. The candidate should combine strong technical knowledge of EV systems with practical experience in production planning, assembly-line management, quality improvement, manpower management, and operational excellence.
The candidate must be capable of taking ownership of production performance, identifying operational challenges, implementing effective solutions, and ensuring consistent achievement of production, quality, and efficiency targets.
Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
