Job Summary:
Pixel Solutionz is looking for a highly skilled Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) Developer with 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end ETL pipelines across Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments. The ideal candidate must be strong in ETL development, data modeling, performance tuning, and managing ETL deployments across multiple environments.
Key Skills & Expertise
Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle)
- Strong experience in transformation design, job orchestration, parameterization, workflow branching
- Error handling, logging, repository migration & environment setup
ETL Development
- End-to-end development of data pipelines: Staging → EDW → Data Marts
- Experience with incremental loads, data cleansing, and business rule implementation
Data Integration
- Hands-on experience extracting data from:
Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, APIs, flat files, and cloud-based data sources
- Loading into Data Warehouse/Data Lake environments
Database Skills
- Strong SQL expertise across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Vertica
Cloud & Big Data
- Exposure to AWS, S3, Data Lake storage, Parquet file handling
- Understanding of distributed data processing
Data Quality & Governance
- Data profiling, validations, cleansing logic
- SCD Type 1 & 2 implementation
- Audit, reconciliation, and exception frameworks
Performance Optimization
- Transformation tuning, SQL optimization
- Lookup caching, memory management, parallel execution
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with business users, BI teams, and data architects to understand reporting and analytics needs
- Develop PDI transformations & jobs to ingest, cleanse, validate, and integrate data from multiple systems
- Implement business rules, quality checks, exception handling within ETL workflows
- Build and maintain dimensional models – fact tables, dimensions, surrogate keys, SCD logic
- Optimize ETL workflows for performance, efficiency, and reliability
- Manage scheduling, monitoring & alerts for routine ETL jobs using Kitchen/Pan and OS schedulers
- Troubleshoot ETL failures, perform root cause analysis, and provide long-term fixes
- Collaborate with DBAs, cloud engineers, and infrastructure teams for performance tuning and environment setup
- Maintain clear technical documentation: mapping sheets, ETL logic, runbooks, deployment guides, SDS/SRS docs
- Support UAT, production releases, and post-deployment checks
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent field
