Job Overview:
The Platform Engineer II - Windows / Active Directory role provides Tier 2 operational support for enterprise Microsoft infrastructure in a global delivery model. This role supports Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, identity-related infrastructure, patching, monitoring, incident response, request fulfillment, and change execution.
The engineer will work closely with GCC leadership and U.S.-based platform engineering teams to maintain operational stability, resolve incidents, execute approved changes, document procedures, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
Responsibilities:
Provide Tier 2 support for Microsoft Windows Server environments, including troubleshooting, administration, patching, and operational maintenance.
Support Active Directory services including authentication, organizational units, groups, DNS, Group Policy, domain controller health, and directory-related troubleshooting.
Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests through established ITSM processes.
Execute approved changes in accordance with change management procedures, including validation and post-change checks.
Monitor server and directory service health using enterprise monitoring and observability tools.
Respond to alerts, prioritize operational events, and escalate complex issues to senior engineering teams when required.
Support Windows server lifecycle activities including provisioning, decommissioning, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and patch compliance.
Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge articles.
Use PowerShell and other approved automation methods to improve repeatable operational tasks and reporting.
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for Microsoft, identity, monitoring, security, and platform-related escalations.
Participate in handoffs with U.S.-based teams and provide clear status updates for incidents, changes, and operational work.
Follow ServiceNow, Jira, and change management practices for accurate tracking, documentation, and execution.

Requirements:
3-5 or more years of experience supporting enterprise Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure environments.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, authentication, and identity-related infrastructure.
Experience supporting patching, operational maintenance, incident response, and service request fulfillment.
Experience working in a ticket-driven environment using tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
Ability to execute approved changes, document results, and communicate status clearly.
Basic PowerShell scripting or automation experience for administration, reporting, or repeatable operational tasks.
Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, identity, network dependencies, and infrastructure services.
Ability to work with distributed teams and follow established runbooks and escalation procedures.

Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, VMware Aria, or similar platforms.
Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, request, and change management practices.
Microsoft certifications or equivalent practical experience are preferred.
Work Environment and Expectations:
Based in Hyderabad, India, supporting a global infrastructure operating model.
Requires overlap and coordination with U.S.-based platform engineering teams.
May require occasional off-hours support for escalations, maintenance windows, or approved changes.
Expected to follow operational standards, change controls, documentation practices, and escalation procedures.
