Job Designation : Branch Manager - Freight Forwarding
Location - Mumbai
Key Result Area:
1. Revenue & Profitability Management
- Own full branch P&L accountability and financial performance.
- Drive achievement of revenue, gross profit, and net profit targets.
- Monitor cost structures and improve overall branch profitability.
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with market competitiveness and margin goals.
2. Sales & Business Development
- Acquire new customers and develop key accounts
- Expand market presence in assigned territory
- Drive cross-selling across services (Air, Sea, Customs, Projects, ODC, Breakbulk)
3. Operational Excellence
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of shipments
- Maintain service quality and operational compliance
- Optimize operational processes and cost control
4. Customer Service Management
- Maintain high client satisfaction and retention
- Handle escalations and resolve service issues and strengthen customer relations.
5. Financial Control & Compliance
- Ensure timely receivables collection
- Maintain credit discipline and vendor management.Ensure regulatory and audit compliance
6. Team Leadership & Administration
- Lead, mentor, and develop branch staff,Set performance targets and monitor KPIs
- Maintain a productive and compliant work culture
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete branch operations including Air Freight, Sea Freight (FCL/LCL), Customs Clearance, and Transportation.
- Drive branch revenue, gross profit, and overall P&L performance.
- Develop new business opportunities and acquire corporate clients.
- Maintain and grow existing key accounts through relationship management.
- Lead rate negotiations with airlines, shipping lines, transporters, and overseas agents.
- Ensure timely execution of shipments as per agreed service levels.
- Monitor documentation accuracy (BL, AWB, invoices, customs documentation).
- Oversee credit control and ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Control branch operational costs and improve efficiency.
- Handle customer escalations and ensure high service standards.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, IATA guidelines, and company policies.
- Prepare and present monthly MIS reports to management.
- Recruit, train, and supervise operations, sales, and customer service teams.
- Set performance targets and monitor individual and team KPIs.
- Drive process improvements and digital adoption within the branch.
- Build strong relationships with local vendors, transporters, and government authorities.
Education/Experience
- Education : Any graduate/MBA qualified
- Experience : Minimum 10 plus years of experience in freight forwarding company from any Top Tier/Tier II Freight forwarding company
Pay: ₹14,386.71 - ₹74,835.83 per month
