Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced RBI Compliance Officer responsible for ensuring the organisation's compliance with RBI regulations, applicable banking/NBFC laws, KYC/AML requirements, regulatory reporting obligations, internal policies and other applicable statutory requirements.
The candidate will monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact on business operations, coordinate implementation across departments, identify compliance gaps and ensure timely closure of regulatory observations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable RBI Master Directions, circulars, notifications and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor changes in RBI regulations and assess their impact on business operations.
- Maintain a comprehensive Regulatory Compliance/Obligation Tracker and ensure timely implementation.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and identify gaps, exceptions and regulatory risks.
- Coordinate with Operations, Risk, Internal Audit, Legal, Finance, IT and Business teams for compliance implementation.
- Prepare and submit RBI/statutory regulatory returns and reports within prescribed timelines.
- Ensure compliance with KYC, AML and CFT requirements and applicable PMLA obligations.
- Review customer onboarding, KYC/CKYC, transaction monitoring and suspicious transaction reporting processes.
- Support preparation for RBI inspections, audits and regulatory reviews.
- Coordinate responses to RBI inspection observations, audit findings and compliance issues.
- Track corrective/preventive actions and ensure timely closure of regulatory observations.
- Prepare periodic Compliance Reports/MIS for senior management and the Board/Board Committee.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and maintenance of compliance records.
- Review policies, SOPs and processes to ensure alignment with applicable RBI requirements.
- Conduct compliance training and awareness programmes for employees.
- Escalate significant regulatory breaches, non-compliance and emerging compliance risks to senior management.
- Work closely with the Principal Officer/AML team, Internal Audit and Risk Management where responsibilities overlap.
- Monitor customer grievance and regulatory grievance-redressal requirements applicable to the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable RBI requirements relating to outsourcing, digital operations, data/customer protection and other relevant areas.
- Maintain readiness for regulatory examinations and ensure timely submission of information requested by RBI or other regulators.
