Job Summary
We are looking for an Experienced 3D Mechanical Designer with strong expertise in sheet metal and product design. The candidate will be responsible for designing manufacturable sheet metal parts, enclosures, and mechanical products, from concept to production, while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and ease of fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Design sheet metal components, enclosures, cabinets, and assemblies
- Create accurate 3D models and detailed 2D drawings with bend details
- Apply sheet metal design rules (K-factor, bend allowance, reliefs, nesting)
- Develop designs for laser cutting, bending, welding, and powder coating
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Coordinate with production, laser cutting, bending, and assembly teams
- Support prototype development and product improvement
- Ensure designs comply with tolerances, GD&T, and quality standards
- Maintain design revisions and technical documentation
- Optimize designs for DFM/DFA and cost reduction
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3–8 years of experience in sheet metal & product design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor / AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
- Knowledge of materials (MS, SS, Aluminum), finishes, and coatings
- Hands-on experience with enclosures, brackets, frames, panels
- Good knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and fits
- Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings and standards..
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industrial enclosures, electrical panels, or machinery covers
- Knowledge of nesting and flat pattern optimization
