ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Software Engineer II, you will be an integral part of our semiconductor equipment engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and integrating software that drives high-precision machine performance. You will work at the intersection of software and hardware, developing control interfaces, operator GUIs, and automated systems that meet the exacting standards of the semiconductor industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to:
- Design, develop, test, and integrate software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Develop C#/C++ DLL interfaces enabling external customers to programmatically control equipment.
- Build intuitive operator interfaces for semiconductor equipment using C# and C++.
- Implement hardware control modules using serial communication interfaces and TCP/IP protocols.
- Develop and maintain automated system controls for semiconductor equipment operations.
- Conduct thorough system testing, debugging, and performance optimisation.
- Provide post-deployment software support and debugging assistance to customers and field teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Hands-on expertise in C# and C++ programming languages.
- Familiarity with PLC programming concepts and industrial automation.
- Excellent debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Sound understanding of multithreading and concurrent programming concepts.
- Experience in GUI development using C# .NET frameworks (WinForms and WPF).
- Strong software/hardware interface experience, particularly in embedded or industrial contexts.
- Good working knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub or Azure DevOps.
- Good Knowledge about SEMI software standards like SECS/GEM, GEM300, cybersecurity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-6 years of professional experience in C# / .NET software development.
- Prior exposure to complex system development in regulated or high-precision domains such as semiconductor, healthcare, or aerospace is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimise complex software systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
