- Machine Operation & Setup: Position and secure raw materials, fixtures, and cutting tools . Set exact work and tool offsets .
- Programming & Editing: Read and write G-code and M-code programs, or utilize CAM software to establish cutting paths. Adjust speeds, feeds, and coolant flow as required.
- Quality Control: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings. Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gauges) to verify dimensions of finished parts.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the VMC equipment, troubleshoot operational errors, and clear functions.
- Education: ITI, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Machining Technology.
- Experience: Typically 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a VMC Operator or Setter.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of G-code, M-code, and control systems like Fanuc or Siemens.
- Physical & Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and the stamina to perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
