Job Description: Highway Supervisor
We are looking for a Highway Supervisor for road construction projects in hilly terrain. The candidate will be responsible for supervising day-to-day highway works such as hill cutting, road formation, widening, filling, pavement layers, drains, and protection works under the guidance of the Highway Engineer or Project Manager.
The candidate should have practical site knowledge and should be able to manage labour, machinery, materials, and contractor teams at work locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily road construction activities at site.
- Monitor hill cutting, road widening, filling, road formation, and disposal of excavated material.
- Supervise subgrade, GSB, WMM, DBM, BC, shoulder, drain, and protection works.
- Coordinate with survey team for line, level, alignment, camber, gradient, and site marking.
- Ensure proper deployment of labour, machinery, materials, and subcontractor teams.
- Guide labour teams, operators, foremen, and contractors during execution.
- Check basic layer thickness, compaction, watering, rolling, line, level, and workmanship.
- Support execution of side drains, catch water drains, culverts, retaining walls, breast walls, and slope protection works.
- Maintain daily records of manpower, machinery, material consumption, and work progress.
- Report site issues such as water seepage, loose strata, landslide-prone areas, drainage blockage, slope failure, or traffic obstruction to senior engineers.
- Ensure work is carried out as per site instructions, drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Assist QA/QC team during field testing and inspections.
- Maintain traffic safety, barricading, warning signs, and safe working conditions on narrow hill roads.
Required Qualification & Experience
- ITI, Diploma, or relevant qualification/site experience in civil or highway works.
- Practical experience in road construction, highway, hill road, or infrastructure projects.
- Basic knowledge of highway site supervision and road work execution.
- Experience in hilly terrain projects will be preferred.
- Ability to manage labour and machinery at site under guidance of senior engineers.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
