ROLE OVERVIEW
The Chief Instructor (Mechatronics) will provide domain expertise in mechatronics, CNC/NC machinery, and automated production systems relevant to modern maintenance facility planning. This role supports the assessment and design recommendations for integrated coaching maintenance and production capabilities in the Delhi decongestion study.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert inputs on mechatronics systems, CNC/NC machine maintenance, and automated assembly lines relevant to coaching maintenance facilities
- Assess existing M&P capabilities in Production Units and Railway Workshops and benchmark against modern facility standards
- Recommend appropriate machinery, equipment, and automation systems for proposed integrated maintenance facilities
- Develop technical training frameworks and skills assessments for mechatronics-related functions in proposed facilities
- Support preparation of M&P utilisation assessments, equipment schedules, and functional layout inputs
- Collaborate with depot planning and rolling stock experts to align mechatronics recommendations with operational needs
- Contribute to technical sections of the consultancy report covering machinery, automation, and maintenance technology
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma (or equivalent/higher) in Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Electronics, EEE, Computer Science, Aeronautical, or IT Engineering; or M.Sc. (Electronics)
- Additional degree in BCA, MCA, Electronics, Aeronautics, or IT preferred
- Minimum 3 years as Technical Supervisor at Level-7, or 4 years as supervisor at Level-6 in M&P maintenance of NC/CNC machines and/or automated production/assembly lines in Production Units or Railway Workshops
- Strong knowledge of mechatronics systems, automation technologies, and maintenance of precision engineering equipment
- Ability to develop technical documentation, training materials, and assessment frameworks
