Key Responsibilities:-
- Perform in-process inspections as per control plans, drawings, and customer specifications.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct first-off, patrol, and final in-process inspections.
- Review and verify dimensional measurements using precision measuring instruments.
- Identify non-conforming products and ensure proper segregation and documentation.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform root cause analysis using quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis.
- Support production teams in resolving quality-related issues.
- Ensure implementation of quality control plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor process capability and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in new product development and process validation activities.
- Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA), process audits, and product audits.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
- Maintain inspection records, calibration records, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Purchase, and Engineering departments to resolve quality concerns.
- Support customer audits, internal audits, and external certification audits.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (if applicable), and company quality standards.
Required Qualifications:-
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a precision manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:-
- Knowledge of precision machining processes (CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Grinding, VMC/HMC, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Indicator
- Thread Gauge
- Plug Gauge
- Slip Gauges
- Surface Roughness Tester
- CMM (preferred)
- Knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and Control Plans.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
