The Indian Journal of Cancer (IJC) is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Indian Cancer Society. It serves as an important platform for disseminating cancer research, clinical studies, epidemiological findings, and public health insights related to oncology in India and globally.
Position Overview
The Indian Cancer Society is seeking a dedicated Executive Assistant to support the editorial and administrative operations of the Indian Journal of Cancer. The role involves coordinating with the Editor, Trustee In-Charge of the Journal, authors, reviewers, and the publication house, while ensuring smooth day-to-day management of manuscript processing and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate regularly with Trustee In-Charge of the Journal, the Editor and the publication house regarding manuscript progress, revisions, and publication schedules.
- Maintain records of manuscript submissions, reviewer comments, and editorial decisions.
- Manage correspondence with authors, reviewers, and editorial board members in a professional manner.
- Assist in tracking manuscripts through different stages of the editorial and publication process.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and databases related to journal operations.
- Use MS Excel to maintain submission logs, reviewer databases, and workflow tracking sheets.
- Use MS Word for formatting documents, preparing communication drafts, and maintaining official records.
- Support the editorial team in ensuring timely publication of journal issues.
- Perform general administrative tasks related to journal management.
- Ensure completeness and adherence to journal submission requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Mid 40s with Secretarial skills
- Graduate degree in any discipline.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word for managing documentation and daily administrative work.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage timelines effectively.
- Good coordination and follow-up skills
- Ability to work in a structured and deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
CTC – 45 - 50 K per month
Pay: ₹540,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
