We are hiring an experienced IP Billing Executive with strong hands-on experience in In-Patient (IP) Billing, TPA Billing, Health Insurance Billing, Cashless Insurance Claims and Reimbursement Claims for a hospital environment.
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of the complete hospital billing cycle, including patient admission billing, treatment/package billing, insurance and TPA pre-authorizations, claim documentation, final billing, claim submission, query resolution, rejection follow-up and settlement coordination.
Candidates with 2–5 years of hospital billing experience, particularly in TPA Desk, Insurance Desk, IP Billing, Cashless Billing, Hospital Revenue Cycle Management and Medical Billing, are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. In-Patient (IP) Billing
- Manage end-to-end IP Billing / In-Patient Billing operations.
- Handle patient admission, billing, interim bills and final settlement.
- Verify patient billing details, services, procedures, medicines, investigations and consumables.
- Ensure accurate posting of hospital services and charges in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Prepare accurate final bills according to hospital tariffs, packages and approved rates.
- Monitor billing discrepancies and coordinate with concerned departments for corrections.
2. TPA & Insurance Billing
- Handle TPA Billing and Health Insurance Billing for hospitalized patients.
- Coordinate with TPA companies, insurance companies and corporate clients.
- Process cashless hospitalization requests and insurance approvals.
- Coordinate for pre-authorization / preauthorization, enhancement requests and final approvals.
- Verify insurance eligibility, policy details, coverage, exclusions and approved limits.
- Coordinate with TPA/insurance desk for timely discharge authorization.
3. Insurance Claims & Documentation
- Prepare and submit health insurance claims with complete supporting documentation.
- Verify claim forms, discharge summaries, investigation reports, prescriptions, bills and other required documents.
- Handle cashless claims and reimbursement claims.
- Track pending claims and coordinate for missing documents or clarifications.
- Follow up on claim status, deductions, queries, rejections and settlements.
- Coordinate with insurance/TPA representatives to resolve claim-related issues.
4. Hospital Discharge & Final Billing
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, front office and other departments for timely billing and discharge.
- Ensure all services and consumables are accurately captured before final bill generation.
- Coordinate for TPA/insurance final approval before patient discharge.
- Explain billing-related information and settlement requirements to patients and attendants professionally.
5. Billing Accuracy & Revenue Management
- Ensure billing accuracy according to hospital tariff, treatment packages, insurance agreements and approved rates.
- Monitor package inclusions/exclusions and insurance deductions.
- Identify billing errors, duplicate entries, incorrect charges and missing services.
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and supporting documents.
- Assist in reducing billing errors, claim rejections and revenue leakage.
6. MIS & Reporting
- Maintain daily and monthly IP Billing MIS reports.
- Prepare reports related to TPA cases, insurance claims, cashless cases, reimbursement cases, pending approvals and settlements.
- Maintain records of outstanding claims, rejected claims and pending documentation.
- Provide billing and claim-related reports to management when required.
7. Coordination & Query Resolution
- Coordinate effectively with TPA, insurance companies, doctors, nurses, front office, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, accounts and hospital administration.
- Resolve patient billing queries professionally.
- Handle TPA/insurance queries and documentation requirements.
- Escalate complex billing and claim issues to the appropriate department or management.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of IP Billing / In-Patient Billing.
- Mandatory TPA Billing experience.
- Mandatory Health Insurance Billing experience.
- Practical knowledge of Cashless Insurance Claims.
- Knowledge of Reimbursement Claims.
- Experience in TPA Pre-Authorization / Insurance Pre-Authorization.
- Knowledge of insurance claim documentation and processing.
- Knowledge of hospital tariffs, packages and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with Hospital Information System (HIS) / Hospital Management System (HMS).
- Good understanding of hospital billing workflows.
- Knowledge of claim follow-up, deductions, rejections and settlements.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet billing/discharge deadlines.
- Good patient handling and problem-solving skills.
