Job Title - Accounts Executive (Liquor Distribution)
Location: Mumbai (Thane)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and record all day-to-day financial transactions.
- Prepare and record sales invoices, purchase invoices, journal entries, credit notes, and debit notes.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, including customer collections and vendor payments.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations and maintain cash and petty cash records.
- Maintain customer and vendor ledgers and reconcile outstanding balances on a regular basis.
- Ensure accurate accounting of inventory by reconciling warehouse stock with accounting records and investigating any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the warehouse and operations teams to ensure all stock movements are properly accounted for.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports, including sales reports, collection reports, inventory reports, cash flow reports, customer and vendor ageing reports, and other financial reports required by the management.
- Assist management with budgeting, cash flow planning, expense tracking, and financial analysis.
- Maintain all accounting records, vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents in an organized manner.
- Ensure all accounting entries are completed accurately and within prescribed timelines.
- Coordinate with banks, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders for finance-related matters.
- Work closely with the management team to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and company records.
Coordination with Chartered Accountant:
- The company has an external Chartered Accountant who manages GST, TDS, Income Tax, statutory compliances, audits, and financial statement finalization.
- The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts and preparing all reports, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documents required by the Chartered Accountant.
- Ensure timely sharing of information and documents requested by the Chartered Accountant for statutory filings, audits, tax compliances, financial reporting, and any other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant to resolve accounting queries and ensure timely completion of all compliance-related activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; experience in FMCG, wholesale, or liquor distribution will be preferred.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, inventory accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
